BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Scott Wiggam
Scott Wiggam is serving in his second term on the Board of Wayne County Commissioners. Scott is married to Kathryn (Cochran) and they have three children, George, Calvin and Lauren. Scott was elected to the Board of Wayne County Commissioners in November of 2004.
Prior to his tenure as commissioner, Scott owned and operated a restaurant managing full time, day-to-day operations with over 20 employees. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Theology from Asbury College and a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Akron. While at the University of Akron, Scott worked as a teaching and research assistant and interned in the office of Ohio Senator Mike DeWine. Scott also served a four year, active duty tour in the United States Air Force and was honored with an Air Force Commendation Medal for meritorious service.
Scott has represented Wayne County on several countywide and multi-county boards including:
· Wayne Economic Development Council
· Wayne County Planning Commission
· Community Corrections Planning Board
· Former Chair, Medway General Assembly
· Former Chair, Ashland-Holmes-Wayne Workforce Area, Chief Elected Officials
· Multi County Juvenile Attention Center Board of Directors & Board of Trustees
· Vice Chair Stark-Tuscarawas-Wayne Joint Solid Waste Management District, Board of Directors
Scott is also involved in the community. He has served on Wooster Area YMCA Board, Wooster Area National Day of Prayer Team, Triway and Wooster Soccer Associations as well as on the Board of the Ohio Right to Life. He is also a member of the Wayne County Township Trustees association and the Mayor’s association. He and Katie are active members of the Shreve United Methodist Church.
